ISOCARP AWARDS 2017 – Deadline for entries extended to 20 July

Responding to various requests we have received we would like to inform you that we have extended the deadlines for the ISOCARP Awards.

The ISOCARP Awards for Excellence are conferred in recognition of exceptionally innovative urban and regional initiatives. These Awards were created in 2005 as the highest honour that the International Society of City and Regional Planners can award to a city, region or an institution.
The Gerd Albers Award was established in 1999 in honour of Professor Gerd Albers, a Co-founder and past President of the Society.
The Student Award was introduced in 2016.


ISOCARP AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE 2017 

The ISOCARP AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE (IAE) rewards plans in design phase as well as projects in progress or already implemented. Moreover, we invite you to send us research projects or ideas. The Awards for Excellence are open to a vast range of professionals and institutions operating in the domain of town and country planning:

  • Architecture / town planning / engineering companies
  • Cities (public administrations / urban development agencies)
  • Universities’ departments / research centres
  • Communities
  • Freelancers, NGOs.

The IAE is looking for the following topics to be addressed:

  • Town / Country Development
  • Urban Regeneration
  • Mobility and Accessibility
  • Urban / Metropolitan Ecology / Agriculture
  • Temporary / Transitional Uses
  • Brownfield Development / Regeneration
  • Social Innovation / Inclusive Planning Processes
  • Urban Planning and Employment
  • Disaster Risk Reduction
  • Low / Neutral Carbon Development
  • Smart Communities.

Deadline for submission: 20 July 2017.

GERD ALBERS AWARD

The Gerd Albers Award was established in 1999 in honour of Professor Gerd Albers, a Co-founder and past President of the Society, who has always emphasized the importance of good publications as a means to further the aims of the Society. The award is given annually, along with a two years of free membership.

Eligible entries: Publications by ISOCARP members, published in 2017 (you can deliver publications issued from August 2016 to the deadline of the award). The definition of “publications” includes (1) books, chapters in books, (2) journal articles, and (3) project reports if they have been published.

STUDENT AWARD
This year ISOCARP is granting this award dedicated to the future generation of planners for the second time.

The award is addressed to a student or student-group with outstanding results (undergraduate-bachelor, graduate-master) in a related field to urban and regional planning. We accept and evaluate final design projects, dissertations, studio projects, etc.
