Airports, Cities and urban development
\nThe European Council of Town Planners considers the importance of Airports Cities in the development of metropolitan areas since the beginning of the 20th century.
\nAviation and urban planning have developed in parallel over the last century and play together a major role in the future of human society.
\nBoth can be considered in their role of polarization of human activities and planetary diffusion of culture and local specificities.<\/p>\n

Through the 12th European Urban and Regional Planning Awards, the European Council of Spatial Planners wishes to reward the best projects, realized or in progress, research and prospective that show how Spatial Planning integrates airports in the development of cities, metropolises and regions.<\/p>\n

The European Urban and Regional Planning Award allows the European Council of Spatial Planners to promote the concrete implementation of the Charter of European Planning approved in April 2013 in Barcelona.<\/p>\n

L\u2019aviation et l\u2019urbanisme se sont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s en parall\u00e8le depuis 1 si\u00e8cle et jouent ensemble un r\u00f4le majeur pour l\u2019avenir de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 humaine.
\nL\u2019un et l\u2019autre peuvent \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9s dans leur r\u00f4le de polarisation des activit\u00e9s humaines et de diffusion plan\u00e9taire des cultures et des sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9s locales.<\/p>\n

A travers le 12\u00e8 Grand Prix de l\u2019Urbanisme Europ\u00e9en, le Conseil Europ\u00e9en des Urbanistes souhaite r\u00e9compenser les meilleurs projets, r\u00e9alis\u00e9s ou en cours de r\u00e9alisation, recherches et prospectives qui montrent comment l\u2019urbanisme int\u00e8gre les a\u00e9roports dans le d\u00e9veloppement des villes, m\u00e9tropoles et r\u00e9gions.<\/p>\n

Le Grand Prix de l\u2019Urbanisme Europ\u00e9en permet au Conseil Europ\u00e9en des Urbanistes de valoriser la mise en application concr\u00e8te pour les territoires de la Charte de l\u2019Urbanisme Europ\u00e9en qu\u2019il a approuv\u00e9 en avril 2013 \u00e0 Barcelone.<\/p>\n

ECTP-CEU at the Davos Declaration 2018<\/h4>\n

ECTP experts Vit Rezac, \u00a0Luc-Emile Bouche-Florin and Joris Scheers intensely participated at the preparation and final approval of the Davos declaration for High quality Baukultur, last January 2018.<\/p>\n

In advance of the Annual Meeting of the Davos-WEF, the Davos declaration, which highlights pathways for politically and strategically promoting the concept of a high-quality Baukultur in Europe was approved. The Davos Declaration emphasises the central role of culture in the quality of our living environment. It reminds us that building is culture and creates space for culture. Taking a holistic approach, stressing the importance of Spatial planning, the joint responsibility of politics and society for the built environment is stressed and a European policy of achieving high-quality Baukultur is called for.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, Europa Nostra issued Learning Kits for heritage civil society organisations on three crucial topics: Fundraising, Awareness-Raising & Advocacy, and Citizen Engagement & Education. The Learning Kits provide innovative and practical approaches to these topics and bring together dozens of outstanding examples from 21 countriesacross Europe. These digital publications, which were produced with the support of the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, are available online and can be easily read and shared.<\/p>\n
